Sept 2012 Elk Hunt

Photobucket After 6 months of planning, I finally hunted the Wapiti Photobucket The hunted started at Ripples drive in. I'm shown here with Elk expert Mark Stephenson Photobucket Nate Thomas was very instrumental in helping me on this hunt as well. Photobucket We had a 5.5 mile hike into our hunting area. Photobucket We were glad that Lucy and Cheeto came to pack our gear Photobucket We saw this guy right off the trail on our way up. Photobucket Photobucket The first 2 evenings we had some rain move in on us Photobucket But the rain quickly gave way to beautiful weather Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Lots of territory covered over this 5 day muzzle loader hunt and afternoon siestas were welcomed Photobucket Nate inspecting our little run in with a black bear Photobucket Packing up our elk and camp and headed home Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket A few blisters came out Photobucket And then the sun went down

Breathtaking
Your photos are exquisite and Dad must have looked at them over and over and over. Thought there was a tear or two-especially looking at the holes and the camp.
Hope your poor little feet feel better! Handsome guys!
Biggest elk I've ever seen.
What a wonderful trip for you Matt.
Love you

Great pictures! Looks so beautiful up on the mountain. 5 days might be a little long for me. I am excited to get the scoop on the whole story. See you up on windy in two weeks!

You can't go hunting unless your blisters are better.
Dad has looked at these pictures one hundred times at least.
