Hi Matt,
I come from a large hunting/fishing/lab loving family in central IL. Anytime I see you have a new post I share it with my hubby, dad, brothers, uncles, cousins and nephew. We are all fascinated at the different fish and game your "neck of the woods" provides, and the dedication you show to fostering a love of nature and hunting game in your children. One question...do any of your girls participate? I know around here my family is an oddity in that myself and my 2 female cousins hunt/fish right along with our guys. I probably have to take the blame for that. My dad's family has a history of having only sons (4 generations deep), then I came along and messed all that up! My dad, uncles, and grandad didn't seem to mind, and raised me to hunt and fish alongside them. Just curious.
We hunt:
white tail deer, squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, quail, dove, turkey, duck, racoons
We fish:
white bass, large mouth bass, crappie, catfish, walleye, and blue gill (neice's favorite).
Thanks for the enjoyment you give us.
PS. my nephew says of the pheasants "that's awesome"...high praise from a 10yr ol farm boy!

My wife has hunted waterfowl with me in the past. My 16 year old daughter has no ineterest in hunting or fishing but enjoys the dogs. My 7 year daughter old loves to help pluck the birds but isnt interested in shooting them. Yet
